Create a database

A PostgreSQL server can hold many databases. A database holds schemas, tables, and their data. In a server terminal you would create one with CREATE DATABASE. Here, the browser creates a separate PostgreSQL instance for your new world.

What you'll learn

Database names are identifiers: use lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores. CREATE DATABASE is usually an administrator command.
