Query Quest PostgreSQL Course

Create an index

An index is a lookup structure for columns you search or sort often. It can speed up reads, but it takes storage and makes writes slightly more expensive.

What you'll learn

On tiny tables PostgreSQL may still choose a sequential scan. Indexes matter most as data grows; EXPLAIN shows the query plan.

Your mission

Create an index named idx_players_realm on players(realm).
